Nexen Tire's Drift Driver Jason Jiovani
Subscribe to Nexen News RSS feed Jason Jiovani (G-o-von-e) is a dedicated grassroots professional drifter from Largo, FL. His passion and desire to become a drifter started back in 2000. In 2006, Jason started his competitive career off by placing 3rd (his first competition) at US Drift Nationals at Mid-Ohio Road Course. He competed at the first annual FormulaD Pro-Am Finals in Laughlin, NV. The following year, Jason competed in NOPI Drift 2007 and had 3 Top 16 finishes with one landing him in 5th. Jason attended every NOPI event on a privateer budget and ended up finishing just a few points out of the top ten for the season. In 2008, Jiovani was hired as a judge for the 2008 season of NOPI Drift.
Currently, Jason holds a Florida Drift Championship license, a D1 Provisional license, and will be attempting to earn his FormulaD license later this year. Jason also has been doing demo shows at the Stunt Wars Competitions, the Honda Grand Prix of St.Petersburg (IRL), and Destination Daytona.
In addition to being a skilled driver, Jason upholds a strong professional presence at evnts and represents all of his sponsors in a good light. He is constantly helping out drivers at practice events and offering advice anytime he is asked. Jiovani knows that even now, he still has a lot to learn and respects drivers of all level for their dedication and love of the sport. Another interesting fact is that Jason is probably the only professional drifter who has a day job as a substitute teacher !!
